Blue Lake is offering two different weeks of summer day camp in Cranbrook for children ages 7-13. 

This forest and enviroment focused program will teach children about their local ecosystems and much more.  Games and hands-on activities will be so much fun that they will forget they are learning!  Campers will enjoy hiking, games, and spending time in nature.  Learning topics will include local trees, wildlife, survival, navigation, water conservation, and environmental stewardship.  Campers will meet new friends and gain an appreciation for nature and sustainable living. 


Camp programming runs Monday to Friday 9:00am to 3:00pm.  Before and After childcare is available.  8:00-9:00am and/or 3:00-5:00pm.  Staff will entertain your child and provide crafts, games, and supervision. 


Pick up and drop-off location:  Scouts Hall at Idlewild Park.  Children should come prepared with water bottles, bagged lunches & snacks, and wear appropriate clothing to be outside. 


Cost:  $259 +GST per week or $52.00 + GST per day where space is available

Week #2 August 26-30

Blue Lake will be offering two different "Short Week" options
for younger and/or first time campers that run from Sunday to Wednesday.  These campers will register at the regular time on Sundays and de-register on Wednesdays between 2:00 and 4:00pm


Week #1 will be July 7-10

Week #2 will be July 21-24

Summer Camp 2013

July 7th to August 9th

 

Important News for 2013: 

  • We are no longer accepting Summer Camp registration over the phone.  Please be sure to fill out all forms that are included in the "Summer Camp Registration Package" located in the "Forms" section of this website and send in by mail, email, fax or in person to the Blue Lake Office.
  • There will be no registration/deregistration on any weekdays of Summer Camp. 
  • "Short Week Option" July 7-10 and July 21-24 are "Short Week" options for younger and/or first time campers that run from Sunday to Wednesday.  These campers will register at the regular time on Sundays and de-register on Wednesdays between 2:00 and 4:00pm
  • "Two Week Option" Sunday July 28 - Friday August 9 is a continuous 2 week block option. Campers are dropped off Sunday July 28 and remain at camp straight through until Friday August 9.
  • Registration will be between 2:00 PM-4:00 PM on Sundays. Blue Lake will not be responsible for any campers before 2:00PM on Sundays!
  • Pick up is now on Friday evenings between 5:00PM and 8:00PM (No later).  Parents, please join us for a free BBQ when you pick up your child(ren) on Fridays!
  • Summer Camp will run for ages 7-13.
  • There will be a deposit of 25% due on date of registration.

Laughter in the trees, games in the field, singing around the campfire, learning about the wilderness and swimming with friends is what we are looking forward to!  What are you excited for?

 

Different adventures and activities happen each day, including Ecofun, Campfires, Games (Capture the Flag!), Cabin Unity Time, and special programs depending on the day such as  Theme Days,  the hike and out-trip on Wednesday, 'Kazaam' skit night, and a special Blue Lake ceremony on Thursday that you don't want to miss! Outdoor Youth Leadership Schools (OYLS)

 

NEWS FOR BLUE LAKE'S OUTDOOR YOUTH LEADERSHIP SCHOOLS (OYLS):

 

JOYLS (Junior Outdoor Youth Leadership Program) July 14-26 2013 :

New for 2013:  JOYLS is now a 12 day program including a multi-day hike and canoe trip. 

14-16 year-old can take part in the Junior Outdoor Youth Leadership Program.  JOYLS is a precursor to the Outdoor Youth Leadership (OYLS) Program and focuses on developing leadership and team-building skills.  Participants will go on a journey of self-discovery while learning specific outdoor and leadership skills/strategies.  Detailed information on JOYLS will be posted soon! There are only 10spaces available for this exciting program, so register early!

 

OYLS (Outdoor Youth Leadership Program) July 14-26 2013: 

New for 2013:  OYLS is now a 12 day program including a multi-day hike and canoe trip. 

A program for youth aged 15-17 who have taken the JOYLS program. This program features a variety of wilderness backpacking and camping training followed by a two night hike into the mountains, a canoeing day trip, along with many opportunities for leadership development. This program will help participants to develop their leadership, communication, risk management, problem solving, trip preparation and wilderness skills. Become part of a tight knit group  and push your personal limits! There are only 10spaces available for this exciting program, so register early!
